Currumbin Eagles JRLFC "the Juniors"

Our club was formed in 1976 playing as Currumbin Juniors. The club colours were red and white. We moved to the Tugun seniors fields in the early 1980's and became Currumbin-Tugun Juniors and adopted the Blue & White playing strip.

However, with the growth of the Currumbin area and the desire to play Friday night games we once again relocated to our present location at Galleon Way, Currumbin in 1986. It was with the assistance of a council loan towards our lights, and establishing a small clubhouse that our club really came in to its own.

1995 saw the introduction of our mixed summer touch competition, which now boasts over 1300 players and is growing each year.

During the 1998/1999 period we extended our clubhouse with government grants (not to mention the help from many of the families associated with our club). In the 2007 season we had over 500 registered players. Recently, lights were installed for our second international field. This has allowed us to have Seagulls (for a short time) help us to establish our Seniors and provide more Friday night games and Sunday games for seniors. In 2006 we began to field an Under 19's side as well as A Grade and Reserves using our fields for their home games.

Over the years we have had considerable success on and off the field, winning numerous premierships and club championships. We have seen many players progress from club football through the representative ranks on to QRL, Winfield Cup and the NRL, including players such as Ben Ikin who represented Queensland in State of Origin and Australia on many occasions.

We are sure that there will be many other success stories from our players in the coming years.
